About The Chef & Prestige Cooking, LLC

Chef MJ is the sole owner of Prestige Cooking, LLC. MJ, a Hampton Roads native, is from Suffolk, Virginia and a graduate of Nansemond River High School. He attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and received his bachelors degree in Business Management with a minor in marketing in December of 2023.

 

Additionally, he is a decorated active veteran of the United States Air Force. He is a man of God, entrepreneur, leader, influencer, son, brother, and friend. Outside of the Kitchen and business environment, his favorite hobbies are art, basketball, football, working out, and doing things that may be little but have big purposes. It could be something small as spending time with family or close friends.

As he grew up, over the years, MJ observed his family cooking techniques. He adopted those techniques and added his own twist to them. In August 2020, MJ started to craft his skills. His roommate came up with the idea of selling plates to college students and that's how it all started. Chef MJ launched his initial business called Soul Kitchen on October 30, 2020.

 

With tremendous amount of support, he wanted to make this an ongoing business. From October 2020 - July 2023, he's operated under Soul Kitchen, LLC. Those first three years as a entrepreneur and chef paved the way for his new business identity, Prestige Cooking. Now that the foundation has been established, Chef MJ motivated and excited to step forth into his new season.
